Muhammed Aziz Khan Biography
Khan was born in Bangladesh, the son of an army officer. At 18 years old, using a loan from his father, he went into business with his friend, trading chemicals. With the help of the support of many notable businessmen, he was able to secure funding to grow his business and move into other industries.
In 1988, Khan moved to Singapore, becoming a permanent resident and buying property on the island. The Summit Group – the company he founded, became one of Bangladesh’s largest conglomerates, and its power arm produces around a fifth of the country’s electricity. As well as power generation, Summit Group has interests in energy trading, ports, real estate, fiber optics & telecommunications and hospitality. The group are at the forefront of laying the fiber optic network in Bangladesh, connecting 70% of the country, as well as joining it to India and Myanmar.
The Summit Group established itself in Singapore in 2016, and have plans of listing on the Singapore stock exchange.
